Willamina, Oregon

West Valley Bulletin Board

Problem

Information doesn't flow. Events, opportunities, and services exist—but many people never hear about them. Traditional media has faded; online spaces are fragmented or hard to access.

Solution

The West Valley Bulletin Board is a free weekly print publication based at 136 E. Main Street in Sheridan, Oregon, serving Sheridan, Willamina and Grand Ronde; its first issue was February 11, 2015, eight months after the 124-year-old Sheridan Sun closed, and it changed owners in January 2023. Each issue carries a community calendar, local news, obituaries and ads, copies are placed free at about 44 locations in the three towns, and issue PDFs are posted to a public online archive covering 2021 to 2026; the City of Willamina's website calls it the main news and event source for the three communities.
