White River Junction, Vermont
JAM (Junction Arts & Media)
Problem
Information doesn't flow. Events, opportunities, and services exist—but many people never hear about them. Traditional media has faded; online spaces are fragmented or hard to access.
Solution
JAM (Junction Arts & Media) is the 501(c)(3) formerly named Community Access Television (CATV), a public, educational and government access organization with an IRS ruling year of 1993 that renamed itself in September 2022 and moved to a storefront at 5 S. Main Street in downtown White River Junction. It runs two cable channels and streams, airs a free on-air community bulletin board and nonprofit PSAs, has sent a weekly email newsletter since September 2020, covered 127 municipal and school board meetings in 2023, and runs youth programs including JAM Clubs, a High School Media Fellowship, a Youth Media Advisory Board and, in 2026, a Summer Feature Film Intensive; FY2023 revenue was $572,759.
