Trinidad, Colorado
Emergent Campus Trinidad with Trinidad State College (identified from the book text; the manifest leaves organization blank)
Problem
In too many rural places, training and classes are far away or hard to access. That shrinks job options, entrepreneurship, and personal growth.
Solution
Emergent Campus Trinidad opened in July 2024 in a leased wing of the Trinidad School District's Park Street middle-school building across the street from Trinidad State College, funded by a $3.5 million Opportunity Now Colorado grant (July 2024 to about October 2026) with a $5.75 million U.S. Department of Labor advanced-manufacturing grant layered on in January 2025. Independent counts: 22 internship sponsors, 9 interns, a six-member robotics club and a cybersecurity game club in April 2025; 38 businesses on internships by October 2025. The college's Freudenthal Library reopened in spring 2025 after a $9.5 million renovation with a community makerspace.
