Pottsboro, Texas
Pottsboro Area Library (Pottsboro Public Library), National Digital Navigator Corps program
Problem
Digital divides lock people out of jobs, services, and civic life. Even with broadband, many lack the skills or confidence to use digital tools effectively.
Solution
The Pottsboro Area Library (Grayson County, Texas; 2,488 people at the 2020 census) was the only public library among 18 grantees of NDIA's Google.org-funded National Digital Navigator Corps in September 2022, receiving $350,900 to employ a full-time digital navigator. Mark Revolinski, who retired after 38 years in telecommunications, moved from a part-time pilot role into the full-time post; he holds 'Technology with Mark' sessions at assisted-living facilities every other Thursday, makes house calls and works with partner nonprofits. NDIA's 2025 case profile reports 87 devices distributed, 195 residents assisted and 97 with digital skills gains, and says a community turnout at a city council meeting stopped proposed library budget cuts 'at least for now'.
