NCRTD Española Transit Center

Problem

Distance and lack of transportation lock people out of jobs, healthcare, and community life. Traditional transit doesn't work at rural densities.

Solution

The Española Transit Center (NMDOT Park & Ride lot on the north side of Paseo de Oñate at Calle Espinosa) is the stated connection point for North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) Blue Bus routes 110, 160, 190, 200, 300, 500 and (when running) 100, 150 and 400, with NMDOT Park & Ride service to Santa Fe and Los Alamos. NCRTD's MyBlue on-demand Española zone is defined as a 15-mile radius of the Transit Center, weekdays 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., $1 a trip. NCRTD issued an RFP for Bus Stop Design and Amenities Guidelines in April 2023 and now describes the guidelines as developed after public feedback; the guidelines document and the rider survey results were not retrievable.
