Makers Mill (formerly G.A.L.A., Global Awareness Local Action)

Problem

Makers, artists, and small manufacturers lack affordable workspace and access to tools. Isolation stifles collaboration and growth.

Solution

Makers Mill is a 501(c)(3) community makerspace and vocation hub in a roughly 10,000 sq ft former small-engine repair shop (the former Wolfeboro Power Equipment building) at 23 Bay Street, Wolfeboro, bought by the nonprofit G.A.L.A. in spring 2017, renovated in a Phase 1 that ran 2021 to 2022, granted a certificate of occupancy reported August 1, 2022, opened for membership and classes in October 2022, ribbon-cut January 27, 2023, and expanded in a Phase 2 completed in 2025.
