Wyoming Business Council Regional Directors and the Business Ready Community (BRC) program

Problem

Communities need outside resources and expertise, but don't know how to navigate complex institutions. Misaligned expectations and broken promises erode trust.

Solution

The Wyoming Business Council (WBC) staffs six regions with named Regional Directors and requires BRC applicants to involve their Regional Director at least two weeks before the application deadline; the WBC Board recommends BRC grants and loans and the State Loan and Investment Board (SLIB) decides. The Town of Guernsey's $750,000 senior center and library grant was approved by SLIB on February 6, 2025 after the WBC Board had recommended against it. The project amounts the book lists match the WBC's 2020 to May 2026 recipient list, but the book's 2020 to 2023 program totals could not be confirmed, and Wyoming has 99 incorporated municipalities, not 97.
